【摘要】:1.1Thisfire-test-responsetestmethodcoversaprocedureforleachingcushioningmaterialswithwateranddeterminingchangesintwospecificfire-test-responsecharacteristics:()thesurfaceflammability,perTestMethodD3675and()thespecificopticaldensityofsmokegenerated,perTestMethodE662.1.2Thisstandardshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,productsorassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,productsorassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafirehazardorfireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorsthatarepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardorfireriskofaparticularenduse.1.3Inviewofthewidevariationinpotentialserviceconditions,itislikelythatresultsofthisleachingtestwillnotgiveadirectcorrelationwithserviceperformanceforallapplications.However,thetestmethodyieldscomparativedataonwhichtobasejudgmentsastoexpectedserviceofcushioningmaterialsandisusefulinresearchanddevelopmentwork.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
